“Merece tu sueño.” – Octavio Paz
Hahnemann‘s dream was to cure his patients rapidly, gently and permanently. Being deeply disappointed with the medicine of his time, which did more harm than good, he envisioned a therapeutic method that could be applied based on principles and therefore cure with mathematical certainty. For this he elaborated on what is to be cured in the patient, what is curative in remedies and how to apply them appropriately. Over several decades he developed the homeopathic doctrine and proved a variety of remedies. Supported by his strong belief in God, dedication to truth, love for his fellow man and deep desire to alleviate their suffering, he could realize his dream and provide mankind with a healing method that is superior to any other.
Every true homeopath strives to become aquainted with Hahnemann‘s teachings and dreams of mastering this healing art, and the Mexican homeopath is no exception. It’s worth mentioning that Mexico was the first country to recognize homeopathy officially, in 1879. In Mexico, homeopathy can be studied as a medical degree, and in Mexico City we find the largest homeopathic hospital in Latin America. Mexico has hosted several international congresses and produced a variety of eminent homeopaths whose legacy has influenced many a homeopath from Mexico and abroad, such as Proceso Sanchez Ortega.
Currently about 7000 homeopaths are practiving in Mexico, with the number on the rise due to the increasing demand and the evidence of homeopathy‘s effectiveness. Their clinical experience, research, work done in the field of veterinary medicine and agrohomeopathy, demonstrate their profound understanding and experience of Hahnemannian homeopathy. Mexico can truly be proud to be one of the countries that stands at the forefront of homeopathy, doing honor to our great Master.
To quote Octavio Paz, the famous Mexican poet, who is recognized as one of the major Latin American writers of the 20th century:
Between now and now,
between I am and you are,
the word bridge.
you enter yourself:
the world connects
and closes like a ring.
From one bank to another,
there is always
a body stretched:
I’ll sleep beneath it‘s arches.
~ Octavio Paz
Homeopathy unites people from all over the world – those who believe in it, practice it, and are being cured by it – thereby helping to build bridges instead of walls.
We are proud to present to you a variety of articles provided by Mexican homeopaths. Mexico has a population of almost 130 million citizens and about 7000 officially recognized Mexican homeopaths who currently care for their wellbeing and surely deserved their dream!
My special thanks goes to Rafael Mejia, editor at the Mexican homeopathy journal “La Homeopatia de Mexico“, for his support in organizing articles for this issue!
